Beer Laos in Khon Kaen

Postby lee » April 9, 2007, 7:28 pm

After this weekend's visit to Khon Kaen I'm pleased to report that Beer Laos has finally arrived. You can buy small bottles from the Kiwi Cafe opposite Beung Kean Nakhon Lake. You can also get good burgers and fish 'n' chips there, along with wireless internet, smoothies and coffees.

Starbucks has opened at Oasis Plaza and next to it is a new S&P Restaurant.

It seems KK has a good selection of eateries, bars, clubs etc these days, all the more reason for regular visits I think.

I wonder when Beer Laos will make it to Udon since we are closer to Laos than KK and Bangkok.

Lee,

It does seem strange that Udon Thani is the piggy in the middle as far as the Superior Beer Lao is concerned. :guiness:

Just do a " Dick Turpin" on the delivery truck when it stops at the Tesco intersection on its way to KK . :content:

Curious is the taste of Beer Lao similiar to Beer Singha (strong, high alchol)? Can buy Beer Lao in New England but not for the southeast the distributor will not let it come in strange distribution in America.

It's not the same taste as Singha, the alcohol content is about 5%, similar to Singha but doesn't taste as strong, Beer Laos Dark is 6.5% (My favourite). :guiness:

If anyone would like to get their Beer Laos fix, The Kiwi Cafe is at C6 on the Khon Kaen Map. http://www.udonmap.com/Khon_Kaen_Map

Kiwi Cafe is a regular stop for us when in KK, recently, just last friday. have decent blueberry cheese cake and chocolate selections along with apple pie, lemon marrangue, all pretty good. usually just desserts and beverage, haven't tried the 'food menu' but looks good.

Sounds like a great stop to me,but it is either the sweets or the beer Lao,as they don't mix well with me

You asked for this LA, which sweets, Gem and Ree or the cheesecake. :D :D

Thanks for the tip. yesterday I was at Tesco and they opened a new coffee shop. Out front it appeared they have cheese cake. Did not try any but will soon.
