Not sure what the weather was like on Tuesday, but you can view Udons weather from Yahoo or many other websites. My wife misplaces her phone or leaves it at her business a lot.If you worry what hes up to all the time,it will drive you crazy.Any member will tell you the long distance relationship thing is very difficult,if you don't live with your spouse.Im sure a lot of the members may try to wind you up on this one.Its easy when you know how beautiful Thai women are.

Used to happen all the time with my wife. Sometimes I got through and we couldn't talk because of the noise and breaking up, and other times just could not get a connection at all !!

well, it don't think it rained tuesday, if it did, not much as i was out on my motorbike most of the morning. not if we are talking about the city of udon. if not mistaken, rainy season is over. it might rain 2 or 3 time during cool season, which will last till march/april. late march, april rainy season kicks in again. september is the last really wet month, (9.6 inches) by the end of oct, rainy season has stopped (3.2 inches). nov, average 0.6 for whole month, then gets less, nothing noticeable till end of april again, then may to sept can be heavy rains. usually overnight, with afternon 1/2 hour blast. though i may rain all day and night for few days at a time.

i don't think it has rained for over a week, but one poster said there was a bit, but nothing to stop phonecalls. got back from out and about holiday, little rain, but i was down south near lots of water. came back on 25th, and don't remember it raining since. a bit windy the other day, as it was loy kratang, and people complaining about their floatable candles being blown out right away.

still having them phone problems. pm me your phone number, and i'll ring you. and i'm in a dead zone at times, strangely, the only place the one phone, doesn't cooperate on the 1st floor, the other, no problems, ever. but i get thru, everytime i call me brother in philly. and him to me. feel free to ring me 011 66 803253125, that's my sh*tty phone, the other, i use for internet, so will not ring if i'm using it. don't forget we are about 12 hrs a head of you, but anytime 9am to midnight and you should get me. my phone works 99 % locally, and i can't remember last time it didn't work internationally. remember your past post and msgs, thought you were coming for a visit. :-$ :-$

Is this a wind up or what? We don't know who this person is, whether a Thai, or farang,Is She in Thailand? or not?
Cell phones normally work rain or shine. For an excuse, better to use Thai lie...."Batt mot, Mai me keun(no network) Leave phone at home. or in car"(if you have one.)
She dont really need a lengthy weather forecast.Just wants know "Did it rain tuesday"......Answer NO!
Rain season gone!

actually she has posted before, same concerns, and i've had correspondence with her. apparently not much has changed since. guessing she jut wants to confirm to herself, that he is probably lieing, saying it was raining, especially enough to interfere with phone, when rainy season is over.

now she know she may have a trust issue with him, not a good thing.

  never was very protective of our gender, have a hard time lieing, so friends who did play around, wouldn't ask me to be their excuse. though try to stay out of other peoples relationships, that i know, as it never seems to end good for anyone.

phones do work here, even back when service was iffy at times, 9 yrs ago, i still got threw 95 % of the time, now i never have a problem. she can call me at anytime of day, to verify phones are operation, even at typical rush hour.

Agreed there may have been some light rain, but the OP has been told that there was a MONSOON, so heavy that "he" couldn't drive his m/bike back to apartment.

I would doubt there there was a "monsoon" in any part of Udon last tuesday??

I am his wife and Oh yes I will be coming to Udon soon and HELL I JUST MIGHT SURPRISE MY BELOVED HUSBAND AND SON . Now I have another question sorry I dont know so much about Thailand but I want 2 know if I cant speak Thai is this a big problem? And thank you all for assisting me

Are you sure he is in Udon Thani??
The reason I ask is that there has been quite heavy rain (& flooding) in the South of Thailand around Surat Thani...

if I cant speak Thai is this a big problem

yes and no..........udon is far from a tourist destination, though you wouldn't know at times, there are a lot of english speakers here, yanks also. so their are plenty that cater to foreigners, along with foreign owned/managed restaurants. with UM forum, and local map of city, easy daytime transport via baht busses, now 10 baht a trip, the city is easy to negotiate. less than 200 k people here, so not very big at all. 10 minutes will get you from one side of town to the other, non rush hours. a central shopping and eatery area, then 3 night markets, looking like upscale flee market, bunch of food stalls and beer gardens/vendors. with stages for live music or big screen euro footy/soccer.

i can get around fine by myself, know a little thai, more just my favorite foods, almost can ask direction and where the toilet is, although, simply say toilet, and that seems enough. the thai girlfriends makes things very easy, communicating, as most over 40 thais, really haven't master english, and most under, really don't use it much, so not comfortable trying sometimes. but enough places do, or as i guess in phoenix, same as ordering mexican food, i haven't got a clue what half the stuff is called, but if it looks good, i can point and nod my head.

udon is definitely one of the easiest thai cities of any size to negotiate around and for a foreigner to relax without too much stress. phoenix has 1.5 mill people in city, 4.3 mill in whole metro area, so in comparison, a very small town. less than a mile from the ring road, that encircles udon, and you are in rice paddy country, nothing but small villages, very rural.
