Why mention University,they would be under 25.

Not many women still single over 25,many divorced with a set of kids.

Try the cleaning lady of your hotel room first, then move on from there

I was unsure when this was posted in the 'general topics' since not a normal thing to place in there.I answered your question about university ladies being under 25 so irrelevant to what you have specifically asked so rule that off your list.
You need to give more info about what you consider a reasonable price to pay for their services,crack whore prices or not and then can start crossing some bars/areas off your list.
Maybe the best place for you would be Mr Tongs,they have quality,some crack whore style ones and mixed gender,many over 25.
Careful when approaching ladies over 25 in the Mall,not sure they are there to be picked up,normally it is shopping with the kids.

Sorry for being inquisitive but why choose Udon and not Pattaya for this activity?

best answer - just talk to anyone you meet, get introduced too, or so on. Do not try to pickup, as you may offend unless you are sure about the signals you get. Then just wait. If you come across as an honest sensible man, do not worry, they will find YOU.

Women here are not different you know - 2 arms 2 legs go shopping and to restaurants just like any other normal person

Secondly, I will move this topic to 'Relationships' as although you have asked specifically about Udon the same would apply in any city in Thailand - unless you were asking if and where the brothels are, in which case be prepared for some stern replies before being told to go to Pattaya, not Udon.

May one inquire if you are single - what brings you to Udon in the first place?

that's where i was going to go with an answer, but figured, why bother............but man, you guys are tough, and yes, you would think a mature, fairly self confident person, who is allowed out of the house by himself, really wouldn't need to ask, frankly i would be embarrassed if i had to ask.

but some really good advice.

get a t-shirt made up in thai................"greetings, intravert, would love to meet nice gal" skip the age part, makes you sound a bit shallow. go from there. also add, don't talk thai, no katoeys please, your funds are extremely limited. that should help keep the gold diggers away.

I think the best place would be to go walking by the lake in Prajaak park anytime after 5 PM. There are lots of women there who you might be able to meet. I will also add that now-a-days, it may be difficult to find a good woman in Udon. The new atitude seems to be that all farang are ATMs to be skinned ASAP.

I would never have said this five years ago, but IMHO, the best place to find what you are looking for is in Pattaya. The ladies there have a better understanding of farang ways, and, I think, are a lot less greedy than Udon ladies. They also have a more realistic view of their worth. My experience is that Udon ladies are the epitomy of bad Atitude.

I will also add that if you are serious about finding a life time partner, there are much easier places and much better women elsewhere. I would go to the Philippines and I would not waste five minutes in Udon. This comes from a farang who speaks Thai fluently, lived in Udon for 14 years and Thailand for a total of 22 years, and has been a frequent visitor to Thailand for 10 years before. I now live in the Philippines, in Davao, and I like it better. The people are loving and kind, and the women and families not greedy, for the most part.

In my view the people of Thailand, and especially the women, have changed drastically in the last five years. You may still be able to find a good woman in LOS, but after you marry her, all her friends, and especially her family, will be after her to get more and more and MORE AND MORE continually every day. What you think you got in the beginning, may not be what you end up with. Good luck.

It seems he took 22 + years to discover the shortcomings of Thailand, but has been able to make a positive judgement about the Philippines since moving there only since the end of September.

I am a little unsure as to what ejwalk is actually looking for? A short-time relationship? Long-term committed?
And judging from his posts on this thread and other threads... ejwalk, I'm not sure you know what you want out of Thailand, IMO.

I agree with monaliza. I think the women and people of Thailand have changed dramatically in the last five years in their expectations of the Thai/farang relationship.

To be honest, if something were to happen between me and my wife of 6 1/2 years...I would be hesitant to enter into a new long-term committed relationship with a Thai lady. To qualify that statement: I have twenty years experience with Thailand, ten of those years as a resident.

Could you care to elaborate in what you mean by bad attitude of UD ladies?
Is it worst than for example KK ladies?
Korat ladies?
Why should their being the epitomy of bad attitudes?

I'm planning to have a stay there in the begginning of the next year is everything goes well.
Having made the essentials turist spots(BKK,Pattaya,Phuket but also Isaan)and frequenting the bars scene ,i totally know that UD is not the place for somebody who wants to party,**** ,barfines,clubbing all night long.
Anyway this doesn't mean that i will be a monk in UD so even there i will hit the bar scene some times.

I expect to have a more relaxed time than in Pattaya or in BKK.
This is what i come up there.
Also it will cost me less.

Meeting new people,trying to have Thai friends and of course why not some gik to play around.(i will see by myself what are the options for me on the ground,i'm 33 so dunno if already an old fart )

Well this is where i want to come with your epitomy of bad attitude and seeing us as walking ATM....does that mean that the young average Thai lady(let's say the 18-35)will expect that the farang should pay everything?
Dining,shoppping,clothes,presents..

I didn't came accross this behaviour when i met many non bg when i was in BKK or around.
Every time we shared the expenses.
So why shouldn't be the same in UD?
I don't mind to spend more than the lady who is with me as i know i should have more money than her,but it can get annoying if i should pay everything to be seeing only as an ATM machine(even if she spread her legs..that's not the point)
In this case i prefer to go to take a bg where things are upfront.

Care to elaborate..bm's experiences welcome.
