Dog Grooming

Postby jimboLV » March 29, 2010, 10:02 am

No, this isn't a "What is this object" test. :D

The pic below is a shedding rake used for grooming long haired dogs that are shedding their coats. I foolishly left mine behind in the States and have been looking high and low for one in Thailand to no avail. I have checked several pet shops and, not only do they not carry them, they act as if they have no idea what I am talking about (crazy farang). so I'm wondering if they even sell these things in LOS? The regular combs don't seem to do the trick with my dog and she is soon to go into her shedding season. So if anybody has seen one of these things in their travels, please let me know. Thanks.

Have not seen one like that. Took the Village Dog to the Vet opposite the front gate to the Airport a couple years ago as they have a grooming service there. Might be worth a try as they had accessory shelves in there. Good luck.

Thanks Aard. Been there done that, no luck. Tried another couple of vets also, as well as grooming emporiums. Which leads me to believe they don't exist here but thought I would try anyway. Possible idea for an importing business?

A very good friend of mine grooms dogs for a living. She orders supplies (I provide the baht) from a place in the U.S.A., or their supplier in Bangkok. It is cheaper to order from the States.

Google, or type in, Pet Edge.com

Yes, there is one on ebay but I was hoping to find one locally. I'm not too fond of dealing with ebay. In fact the pic I showed came from ebay. I also found one online from some outfit in Australia.
