Hello from a new member.

Long distance relationships, mixed relationships etc...

Hello from a new member.

Postby gudtymchuk » January 1, 2010, 1:16 am

I just found this forum yesterday and I've been reading, learning and enjoying all the information available on this board. I am seriously considering early retirement sometime between April 2010 and April 2011. I am now 58 and will be 59 April 2010 and can meet the requirements for a Thai Retirement visa. I have been considering retiring in Thailand now for about a year. I have made 2 trips to Thailand in the past 9 months and will be going again in Feb. I plan to visit Udonthani, KK and Sakon Nakhon. I have a similar situation as a current tread. I have been in communication with a lady who is a widow previously married to an American farang who died suddenly about a year ago. They were together approximately 3 years. We have been communicating now for about 4 months by email, video chat and telephone. I plan to visit her for a week or so when I go to Thailand in Feb. I have not made any promises to her other than to visit her and see how we get along. She is intelligent, educated and seems to be very sincere. Yes, I will take things very slowly and will not be making any commitments until I am actually living in Thailand. I am sure I will have a million questions to ask in the next few months regarding setting up my life, banking issues, visa issues and, of course, relationship issues. Even though I have not yet had a chance to read every post here on udonmap.com I feel very comfortable that all my questions will be answered. I am looking forward to hearing from the members here.

You need help to set up your life.

We are curious about your up & coming questions and have one for you: what thread was it that was similar to your situation - please provide link. If not - could you outline it briefly. A search might help.

You don't have any questions at this point with this thread start of yours so we guess you are not ready yet to set up your life.

But we have: what exactly do you need help with?

You mention you just found this forum yesterday however you have read and enjoyed all of the information - how is that possible in one day? There is approximately about 50+ megabytes of information alone on the forum which is equivalent to about 25 books.

Welcome to the forum. Yes, sounds like you're taking the right aproach - there's heaps of help/advice on here as well.

As for Farango - sounds like English isn't your native tongue as the tone of your post isn't very good. Can I suggest that you learn some more English before posting again - Eg - this guy doesn't need to help set up his life, who cares about the thread (if Gud needs help/advice, he will ask).

"You don't have any questions at this point with this thread start of yours so we guess you are not ready yet to set up your life." - a little presumptuous huh?

As for reading the whole forum - no he hasn't. Again the level of your English is not up to scratch. There is an implied aspect to his sentence which you haven't realised and haven't the English language capability to grasp.

Please don't post anymore until you learn more - your posts have an aggressive and arrogant element to them.

I put him on my foe list, so he cannot annoy me any more with his posts. Maybe a good advise for the other members here to.

Woh!! Well spotted Mr Spratt. I get pretty lonely myself here in Ubon, so I think acquiring another User Name and chatting to myself should help matters. ;) ;)

Phil just do a search under "mighty chang", and all will be revealed :D

To some he is a serial pest, and to others a source of amusement.

Ah, the 'mighty chang', now i understand. Thanks for that! My only problem with posters like him is when some poor genuine new poster innocently asks a question or offers a comment, and gets sunk by a mighty chang alias or some other joker, maybe never to return to the forum, then that is sad. Otherwise i suppose, personally i don't mind the fakes as they can lead to interesting banter, and especially when they get exposed, as did the Danny's/mighty chang. :D

No, he does not need your help to set up his life. But it seems more like you do. There are plenty of clinics in Bangkok with staff trained to help people like yourself. Do contact them. Instead of Udonmap.com!
