TAX..TAX...TAX etc

Postby Khun Paul » April 5, 2010, 9:50 pm

To those who it may affect, I have just read a piece on UK tax which highlights the Non Residential status being affected.
Now thsi does not concern me as I have to pay UK tax in any event, but those of you who do not it might be wise to read the new rules apparently coming into effect.

THIS IS JUST A WARNING, I AM NOT AFFECTED BUT I KNOW SOME WHO MAY BE SO LOOK AT IT AND IF IT DOES DO SOMETHING TO PROTECT YOURSELF.

Cheers. Paul

Read it in the bangkok Post on line business section, but I am sure there will be better links, I was just telling people, as IT does NOT affect me at all.

Thanks for the link.

Speaking personally, I can't see a big problem there.

As a Non UK Resident for tax purposes, my UK sourced pension is still taxed at source in the UK regardless/anyway, as are my uk share dividends; and as the bank in Thailand pay me no interest on what I keep here, there would be no tax to pay on that!!

But maybe if I was classified, "Resident for tax purposes" and living back in the UK for part of the year, I would be able to claim my state pension with cost of living increases. ;) :D

So perhaps they can have their cake and I can eat it!? ;)
