For 800 TBT per day you can hire a van with driver from travel counter at Charoensri Grand Royal Hotel, 277/1 Prajak Road. I doubt that taxi would be much less.

Try the taxi stand at the airport as u exit the departure area, its right in front, but its 200 Baht just for Udon city from the airport.

thought that used to be 60 baht to udon from airport

its 60 baht for the minivan, i think ? 200Bt for the private car, I use the taxi when i get back from Algeria, as they give receipts and i must travel in cars with seat belts when on company business etc..
