The Udon Cable Company - Again!!!

Postby zoomzoom » April 19, 2010, 9:06 pm

This is just a warning to any ferang NOT to go anywhere near them!

They change (at source) channels whenever they choose (never Thai, only ferang) so searching on your TV is pointless.

Last Saturday they changed channels THREE times during live Supersport football transmissions and today (for the second time in 4 days) they have replaced BBC World with EWTN ( a Catholic religious channel).

Fortunately, I will soon be moving and they will NOT be on my list of prefered suppliers!

Shysters!!!!!!!

Do you know any sensible alternative to them, also price wise?

I'm with Home - 350 baht a month.
Which channel of Supersports they play is up to the Thailand operator. I think there are 7 Supersports channels & Home usually have 3/4 channels set aside for them - so 3/4 cannot be shown at any one time - hence the 'channel hoping' I think when people phone up & ask for something else to be shown.

These cable companies are using any signal they can get for free. Some of the signals are scrambled and when they loose the latest key to unlock the signal they have to drop the channel or substitute another one. If they are able to get an updated key then the original channel may reappear.

It simply part of the cost of buying services from such businesses.

I have a friend who bought his own satellite rip off system. He's always fiddling around with it trying to update the latest keys so he can watch what he wants. If your spirit of larceny is high I guess it's worth the hassle.

I am with UTV and have only had 2 problems with them in last 6 months,1st when they took asian food channel off but 1 quick call to them soon got it re-instated,2nd was the other day when they took bbc world news off for aljazeera,1 quick call to tell them of customer dis-satisfaction posted on here soon had the bbc back on,it just goes to show you that this forum does have some clout as the lady at utv said they would check on here to see what people were saying, obviously don't like bad press....cheers,johnty.

Is anyone else having trouble with the picture quality of home cable?

I am trying to watch west ham play football and either home cable has a problem or its snowing in england

I have tried to re-tune but it doesnt make a difference

the channels from 1 to about 40 are okay but up to 80 are really bad

It was okay until about a week ago

Gaz - perfect picture with me watching WH on home. Hammers 1-0 down.
I found it was the cable from the TV to the wall socket that was an issue when I had that problem. I think they are badly effected by the heat & do not last very long. when I tried to 'jiggle' it the end of the cable just shattered between my fingers.

When I had the problem it was the same Gaz. Although the Aussie channel (on 8 ) was especially effected with snowing as well. The Thai channels (3 & 7) still came shining through so the boss didn't think it was an issue!! :D
