I taught I seen a topic about dating sites a short while back but I cannot see it now . It is of special to me at this time as I have been searching online for a partner for some time now. Thailand really appeals to me and 4 of the ladies that I am in contact with are in or near udorn thanee. One is a really sweet gal but she does not speak english so her aunt translates for her. She is the most keen and sends me an email just about every day. It seems there is a big difference of opinion on internet dating and even my buddies warn me about it as they hear of to many scam artitst. I have tried it before here but it just did’nt work out. I guess I have nothing to lose as I think it will be an adventure to go to udorn thanee and hook up at that meeting and experience thailand. If it does’nt work out with the ladies from the internet I am not to worried as Im sure it will be easy to meet someone there anyway.

there is plenty of discussions on thai forums about this. IMO its a waste of time as they are mostly opportunists with a hidden agenda . they are after practising their english and are time wasters ,looking for money to pay off their gambling debts with their hubbies approval ,looking for suckers to clean out etc.some want a casual relationship.its the numbers game & they are all mostly the wrong type of women.some just want a guy to send them money and phones .

there was a news article some time ago about a Nigerian scammer posing as a thai women, the whole system is infested with time wasters and jokers .look at the age ranges quoted by young teenagers - 16-80 years for their potential new farang hubby ! and guys especialy Norwegians do send money and goods to women they hardly know .its easier than doing the lottery ,the odds are very good

well I can try to help here , I joined Thailand Love Links 18 months ago my second wife had left me I had gone almost blind and I was hurting real bad ,I came across TLL and I paid my £37 for 3 months membership ,it was the best £37 I had ever ever paid !! Last year, corresponded with about 6 women on Date in Asia, met 3. All fairly honest, one wanted money, one completely honest and very western outlook, other more traditional but seemed genuine (first meeting was with family). if you find a fabulous, young, single girl with no kids then be very careful as why is she looking there? If they look for someone with a wide age range, bad sign also. If you are sensible and have realistic expectations, you might be lucky.

its the numbers game, if you plough thru enough gals over a given period you might get lucky. the downside is she could be playing a long game . but new laws in the UK on passports soon ,will mean they wont get a passport until they are in UK for 10 years instead of a PP at 5 years which is doable for some. Petch a gal that screwed my buddy waited for 5 years to get the passport then found herself a Frenchman and scooted .she had it all planned out including many large bank loans which were never paid ,and she was pursued to france for repayment but they kept moving to evade them.he met her thru a dating service .

Yes Izzix, it`s the numbers game. But if you know their game you can play it too. Electricman was smart and chose a lady with a kid. She will have the best in mind for her child always. If he is decent to them they will both adore him. As Rick says, they are as different as we are. And we have to get real here, if the lady is 20 and she has no problem with daing a 65 year old... come on, have we forgotten what it was to be 20 ourselfs?
If I meet one who is in the game for money, the carrot will be money and then I move on. But. If I meet this traditional innocent lady... I would do some soul searching- are we compatible in the long run? What are her parents expecting from me? Do we make each other happy? Trust and communication? Is she very possessive? She can be the real one, but maybe not for me, then I walk away without taking advantage of the situation.
