Help - Need Carpenter

Postby fdimike » October 3, 2006, 10:17 pm

HELP!! My wife and I are in need of a really GOOD carpenter who can install a pair of solid teak wooden doors in our nearly completed home. The ones we have spoken with are afraid to tackle the job for fear of ruining the doors.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm, thai's admitting they can't do it  I can't imagine what the problem could be, maybe wood too hard to cut, or too heavy to hang?

Can't recommend anyone Mike, but I can give you the number for Len, and he might be able to help. He is really an electrician, but does make doors & windows and works all around the area, so he might know of someone. Speaks very little english, so your wife will need to explain problem. PM me, or if the rain stops, I will be at my sight and he is working near-by and if we have boots can go over to talk to him.

I was so unhappy on the way my roof people did the roof trim work, that I am planning on doing it myself, just waiting for this dam rain to stop, so that the ladder does not sink 3 meters! Kinda looks like it never will.

Carpenter

Thanks James. I know what you mean about doing it yourself. I have turned to that route for plumbing as well. I think the problem is just a real shortage of skilled people. Lots of laborers available who can also plant rice on the side but very few skilled people.

I have really had it with Pin Yoo as well. He promises lots of things but delivers little.

Rain is kind of tapering off and I need to go to my site to turn off the exterior lights. Maybe I'll head over to your area afterward assuming the rain stops. If not I'll give you a call.

Ok, I will go over to my sight around one ish, just to see how the drainage is working. My workers are working in BKK for a month, while I get ready for step 5, Wall's!

Thanks for the offer. I happened to have found a carpenter about the same time you offerred to help. The guy and his partner did 90 % of the job today without a bit of complaint. A whole lot different from the ones I spoke with earlier, who were afraid to tackle the job.

Khun Wang: 087-855-4265.
Speaks English. Quality work...however because of that, he is kept fairly busy. You may have to wait before he can get to you.
