Where can I get liquorice/licorice in Udon

Postby udonuk1 » March 4, 2010, 3:20 pm

It is NOT a relevant post, but does anyone know where i can licorice in Udon, or even in surrounding towns ? American or not ?

It is as if licorice is a banned food in Thailand, all the supermarkets have Haribo products from Europe (a company specialising in licorice), but everything BUT Haribo licorice is sold. Chern ???? shop run by the 2 english guys sells licorice allsorts, but they are sold out for 4 weeks until the stock is replenished ! I know that in Thailand licorice root is cultivated, but they just seem not to sell any in the shops.
My favourite is Australian/New Zealand soft eating licorice, if any Aussies or Kiwis know how to get any in Thailand

Villa, Foodland and Emporium all have lic allsorts etc, not sure on the pure stuff though.

I do have a packet of soft Rasberry licorice from Oz, looks like the price just sky rocketted on that

Macro has package licorice something? Don't remember what it was, but it was in raw form, I believe . It's in the herb & spice section between seafood and meat section. Saw it there 2 days ago.

Just returned from Carrefour. They have a fresh supply of Haribo "Lakritz Schnecken" in. 78 baht per 200 gram bag. No artificial coloring or additives. Get 'em while you can.
Also, Carrefour has a ample supply of other Haribo products.
